Taylor Kitsch is joining Jessica Chastain, Kit Harington, Susan Sarandon, and Kathy Bates in the cast of Xavier Dolan’s The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, EW has confirmed.
The project will be Dolan’s first English-language feature film, one that Adele (whom Dolan directed in her smash “Hello” music video) is also reportedly in talks to make a cameo.
Donovan centers on a young actor who recalls the correspondence he shared as a teenager with an American TV star who died 10 years earlier. According to The Wrap, which was first to report Kitsch’s casting, the True Detective actor’s role is being kept under wraps but is described as “unique.”
Harington is set to play the title role in the drama, while Chastain is said to be playing the editor of a gossip magazine. Production is set to begin in the spring.
