Taylor Kitsch and Mark Wahlberg’s war drama Lone Survivor is being released in time for the 2014 Oscars. The film, which stars Taylor and Mark as US Naval officers, has been pushed forward to an American release date of December 27, which would allow it to qualify for the Academy Awards, reported Deadline.
Lone Survivor will then be rolled out across the States on January 10, and in the UK on February 21.
Taylor has admitted he feels “real pressure” to do justice to the real Michael Murphy with his performance.
“I’m excited and honoured to play Mike Murphy. He’s arguably one of the most honourable guys that has ever served,” he said.
“They named a destroyer after him, he has a congratulatory medal of honour. He basically gave his life up for the other three. It’s an incredible role.”
I’m really looking forward to seeing Taylor play this role, December is too far away though!
